Obituary of Lassie Pearl Sanders

MS. LASSIE KRANTZ SANDERS, age 72 of Lafayette, TN passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Sumner Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services for Ms. Lassie Sanders were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Ricky Holland officiating. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers were Michael Gregory, Matt Shoulders, and Charles Carter. Jonathan Strong, Daniel Driver, Brian Jenkins, Steve Steenbergen, Ben Scruggs, and Jay Snook served as Active Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park. Lassie Pearl was born on October 26, 1939 in Macon County, Tennessee to the late Tilman McKinley Krantz and Lassie Aurllia Bohanon Krantz. She was one of seven siblings born to this union. On December 22, 2011 at the age of 72, Lassie Pearl departed this world. She was married on December 20, 1958 to Jesse William Sanders, sharing fifty-three years together. Lassie Pearl and Jessie had two daughters and three step-children that they cared for deeply. Jessie preceded her in death on July 23, 2005. Besides Lassie Pearls' husband and parents; brothers, Veston D. Krantz, Charles Lynn Krantz, and Roger Laddie Krantz, and sister, Rulene Stafford, also preceded her in death. Lassie Pearl worked as a garment inspector for several garment factories in Lafayette, Imperial Reading, Lafayette Apparel, and later at Measure-up, until she retired. She truly enjoyed getting up in the morning and going to work. On Lassie Pearls days off she liked to go Ginseng hunting or dig in her garden. She was an avid sports fan. You could talk to Lassie Pearl if the Titians were on, but if U.K. Basketball was playing there was no talking allowed. She also enjoyed watching the soap opera "Young and the Restless" every day. Lassie Pearl always liked to keep you informed about Victor. Lassie Pearl liked to read novels and work the Word Find books. Her children had a hard time keeping her new books. She was a loving neighbor and very caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Lassie Pearl would cook all day for her family and friends, as long as someone was there to eat. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a very special place in her heart. She attended Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Lassie Pearl will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew and loved her. Ms. Lassie Pearl is survived by; Daughters, Cindy (Michael) Scruggs of Lafayette, TN, Melissa (Mickey) Gregory of Franklin, KY, Sisters, Evelyn (John) Steenbergen of Lafayette, TN,Jerry Hackett of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Brother, E. B. Krantz of Lafayette, TN, Stepchildren, Mary Ann Ashmore of IL, Jesse William Sanders, Jr. of Gainesboro, TN, Teresa Jane Smart of IN, Five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
