Obituary of Roger Allen McDonald

Roger Allen McDonald - age 68 of Lafayette, Tennessee passed away on January 12, 2012 at University Medical Center in Lebanon. Funeral services for Roger McDonald were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder J. B. Shoulders officiating. Ronnie White, Keith Bilbro, Peanut Wilburn, Ronnie Wilburn, Baron Smith, and Greg Howard served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens. Roger was born on January 6, 1944 in Wilson County, Tennessee to Willie Ruth Jent McDonald and the late Cornell Clarence McDonald. On June 12, 1964, he married the former Jayne Evetts sharing forty-seven years together. To this union was born three children, Kelley Duane McDonald born in 1968, Marty Allen McDonald born in 1971, and Holly Kay McDonald born in 1977. Roger has been in heavy equipment business here in Lafayette for forty-two years. In 2008 he retired after complications with his health. He loved anything with a motor from Corvettes to Tractors. In Roger's spare time he enjoyed working on vehicles and watching NASCAR. When Roger was eleven years old, he was saved and joined Dixon Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Roger loved his family and will be greatly missed by them and all who knew and loved him. He is survived by; Wife, Jayne McDonald, Sons, Kelley McDonald, Marty (Michelle) McDonald, and Daughter, Holly (Jason) Wix all of Lafayette, TN, Mother, Willie Ruth McDonald of Lafayette, TN, Grandchildren, Scotty Allen McDonald, Morgan Cheray McDonald, Hayden Justice Wix, Trace Wyatt McDonald, and Adasen Faith Wix.
