Mary Coffee Woodard

Obituary of Mary Lena Coffee Woodard

On April 30, 1944, Mary Lena Coffee was born in Jackson County, Tennessee to Comer and Nellie Grace Scott Coffee. Mary was one of ten children born to this union. Mary was married to Johnny D. Woodard on July 22, 1967. They worked together to made a home for them and their son, David. Johnny preceded her in death on April 27, 2010. Besides Mary's husband and parents; brothers, Odell Coffee, and Lester Coffee, and sisters, Elouise and Louise Coffee, and Beulah Taylor, also preceded her in death. Taking care of her home and raising her son was what Mary enjoyed, above everything else. David said, "Mom was a best friend as well as a good mother to me. Her life revolved around, Dad and me." She had a caring heart and loved the championship of her family and friends. Mary enjoyed giving gifts at birthdays and different occasions. Talking on the phone to her brother, sisters, and friends was very satisfying to Mary. She enjoyed having pictures made with her family. The smaller things in life meant more to Mary, than anything. Collecting Angels and little trinkets over the years made her happy. Mary also had two dogs in the family that she adored. The most important thing in Mary's life was when she was saved in the early 80's. Mary attended Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church and loved listening to the old country gospel music. Mary went to Heaven with the Angels on Thursday, March 15, 2012, to meet the Lord and Johnny. She will be greatly missed, but our loss is Heaven's gain. Mary is survived by; Son and daughter-in-law, David (Lisa) Woodard of Lafayette, TN, Brother and sister-in-law, Charles (Vada) Coffee of Scottsville, KY, Sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth Netherton of Holland, KY, Judy(Ernest) Turner of Scottsville, KY, and Pauline (Fred) Eubank of Indianapolis, Sister-in-law, Shirley Coffee, Grandchildren, Jessica Berry, Justin Berry, and Josh Berry.
