Obituary of Lillard Marie Jent

Lillard Marie Jent, age 88 of Lafayette, TN passed away on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Westmoreland Care and Rehab. Funeral Services for Lillard Marie Jent were conducted on Sunday, March 25 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Mercer officiating. Interment followed in the Crescent Hill Cemetery in Scottsville, Ky. Marie Jent was born in Macon County, Tennessee to the late Clarence Homer Jent, SR. and Era Estelle Vance Jent on February 18, 1924. Marie was one of three children born to this union. Besides her parents; husbands, Elmer Harper, and Bratton Jent, Granddaughter, Sharon Trent, and a Great-Great-granddaughter, Kenzley East preceded her in death. She was married to the late Elmer Harper in 1939 sharing 37 years together until his death in 1976. Marie and Elmer raised one daughter together. Later in 1978 she was married to the late Bratton Jent sharing 7 years together before his passing in 1985. She worked at Carter Automotive in the Brasin and Assembly Department for three years before retiring in 1982. You could always find Marie with a smile on her face. She was a kind and loving person. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and tending to her flowers. But her favorite hobby was spending time with her family and friends and playing with her grandchildren. Mrs. Marie joined the Lafayette Church of Christ where she remained a faithful member until her death. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Marie is survived by; Daughter, Brenda McCullough and Steve Butler, Grandson, Neal (Loretta) McGuffey, Great-Granddaughters, Tiffany Trent, Caneal (Devon) East, and Amanda Trent, Great- Grandson, Jesse McGuffey, and Great- Great- Granddaughter, Faith East.
