Obituary of William Darryl Lockwood

William Darryl Lockwood, age 58 of Westmoreland passed away on Tuesday, June 19 at Sumner Regional Medical Center after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services for Darryl Lockwood were conducted on Friday, June 22 at 3 p.m. from the chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home with Reverend Harold King officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were, Walt Cannon, Justin Cannon, Gabriel Lockwood, Garland Lockwood, Johnathan Doolin, and Jay Slatton. Interment followed in the Cedar Bluff Cemetery. William Darryl Lockwood was born on February 19, 1954 in Smith County, Tennessee to the late Howard Wilton Lockwood and Mary Ann Woodard Lockwood. He was one of five-children born to this union. As a young man, Darryl was married and had two sons and one daughter. On September 17, 1994, Darryl was married to the love of his life, Debra Kay Warner, whom he affectionately called Derby. In this marriage he gained two more daughters. Over the years, Darryl had worked as a Police Officer and also in Construction. Most recently, Darryl was the owner and operator of a transportation company. He enjoyed driving his truck. In his spare time, Darryl loved being outdoors. He enjoyed flower gardening, or just sitting on the porch drinking coffee. Darryl adored his family and the grandkids. The grandkids said that he was the "World's Best Grandpa". He was saved and a member of Lynnwood Baptist Church. Darryl's has finished his labors down here on Earth and is now in Heaven. The family and many friends will miss Darryl down here on Earth, but our loss is Heaven's gain. Darryl is survived by: Wife, Debra "Derby" Lockwood of Westmoreland, TN, Daughters, Stephanie (Johnathan) Doolin, and Amanda (Michael) Gray all of Lafayette, TN, and Lori Nix of Franklin, TN, Sons, Nick Lockwood, and Adam (Raychel) Lockwood all of Lebanon, TN, Grandchildren, John Marshall Gray, Lewis Hayden Gray, Hailey Doolin, and James Wyatt Wheeler all of Lafayette, TN, Chevelle Lockwood, McKenzie Lockwood, and Blake Lockwood all of Lebanon, TN, and Hunter Nix of Franklin, TN, Brother, Wayne (Ung Yung) Lockwood of Alabama, Sisters, Cherri Lockwood McCraw, and Velvet (Walt) Cannon all of Lebanon, TN.
