Obituary of James Earl Keen

James Earl Keen, age 62 of Lafayette passed away early on Sunday morning June 24, 2012 at his residence. Funeral Services for James Earl Keen was conducted on Tuesday, June 26 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Jerry Swindle officiating. Randy Keen, Chris Walker, Jason Walker, Jeremy Keene, and Michael Hill served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Underwood Cemetery. James Earl Keen was born on January 19, 1950 in Macon County, Tennessee to James Loyd Keen and Beulah Lee Allen Keen. He was one of eight children born to this union. Besides his parents; brother, Harold Gene Keen, sister, Frances Jones, and niece, Darlene Keen, also preceded James in death. James worked for Lafayette Manufacturing for several years and then later went to work for General Springs in Hartsville. He retired in 2004 due to health problems. James was never married, so James devoted his life to his mother and family. He had a great love for his brothers and sisters. James always was ready to spend time with his nieces and nephews. He was a simple man who enjoyed sitting back and watching TV. James was a true sports fan, especially football. He was saved and baptized while living a NHC Healthcare. On June 24, 2012, the Lord called James home to Heaven. His labors down here on Earth are over. The family and his many friends will miss James down here, but our loss is Heaven's gain. James is survived by; Brothers, Gerald (Terri) Keen of the Westside Community in Macon County, TN, Benny (Connie) Keen of Lafayette, TN, Sisters, Mildred Hill of White House, TN, Shirley Walker of Hendersonville, TN, Helen (Kent) Gimmy of Gallatin, TN, several Nieces, and Nephews, and several Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews also survive.
