Obituary of Dolas E. Gammons

Dolas E. Gammons, age 60, of Lafayette passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 at his residence. Funeral Services for Dolas E. Gammons were conducted on Wednesday, July4 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Gammon officiating. Jerry Clark served as Honorary Pallbearers. Tommy Wentworth, Donald Cherry, Shawn Wilder, Justin Gammon, Jason Gammon, Shane Patterson, and Jacob Gammon served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Pony McDonald Cemetery. Dolas Edward Gammons was born on May 18, 1952 in Macon County, Tennessee to Lillian B. Patterson Gammon and the late James Efford Gammon. Besides his father, sister, Carolyn Gammon also preceded him in death. He was employed by TennPlasco as an assembly worker for over seventeen years. As a young man, Dolas had been married and has one daughter, Chriss. Dolas loved his daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchild. He couldn't wait to spend time with his family and friends. He was a simple man who enjoyed the basics of life. Dolas liked to go fishing with his buddies and camping. He enjoyed gardening and taking care of his pets, especially his dogs and rabbits. Dolas was saved when he was 19 years old and was of the Baptist Belief. His family and friends will miss Dolas, but our loss is Heaven's Gain. Dolas is survived by; Daughter, Chriss Rivers, Granddaughter, Bethany Lankford and Ashley Wood, Great grandchild, Holly Wood, Mother, Lillian B. Gammon all of Lafayette, TN, Sister and brother-in-law, Wanda (Jerry) Clark of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Brothers, Connie (Kim) Gammon, Lonnie (Angie) Gammon, Ronnie Gammon and Jeffrey Gammon, Special Aunt and Uncle, Shelby (Russell) Barnett.
