Obituary of Hester Katherine Woodside

Hester Katherine Gammons was born on January 14, 1922 in Macon County, Tennessee to the late Odell Gammons and Lydia Ann Wilburn Gammons. She was one of ten siblings born to this family. Besides her parents; husbands, Irvin King, Elmer Bosley, and Authur Woodside, brothers, Oscar Gammons, Verner Gammons, Phil Gammons, Jess Gammons, Dock Gammons, and George Gammons, and one sister, Elsie Morrison also preceded her in death. Hester loved being a housewife, but was found most of the time helping out on the farm. She was a hard working woman that never backed away from a challenge. Hester was a very talent seamstress, but most of her time was spent in the kitchen doing what she enjoyed most, cooking. Hester had a sweet personality and quite a sense of humor. She was saved as a young girl and joined Spring Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Friday, July 13, 2012 the Lord called Hester home, at the age of 90. Funeral services for Hester were conducted on Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Dewayne Gregory officiating. Dale Dodd, Wayne Cherry, and Gary Koers, Jr. served as Honorary Pallbearers. Serving as Active Pallbearers were Gary Koers, Ricky Gammons, Tony Gammons, Nathan Gammons, Travis Richmond, and Daniel Shoulders. Interment followed in the Maple Grove Cemetery. She will be sadly missed by her family and her many friends, but our loss is Heavens gain. Hester is survived by; Brother, Charles Junior and Carol Gammons of Nashville, TN, Sister, Delcie Gammons Dodd of Indianapolis, IN, several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
