Obituary of Lassie May Ragland

Lassie May Ragland was born on December 23, 1922 in Macon County, Tennessee to the late William Owen Ragland, and Magnolia Ford Ragland. She was one of three siblings born to this family. Besides her parents; brothers, Rosco Ragland, and Leo Ragland also preceded her in death. Lassie was a homemaker. Marriage and children never came into Lassie's circle of life. She carried the title "Aunt" very proudly though. Lassie spent a lot of her time taking care of her nieces and nephews. She was more of a grandmother figure to them than an aunt. Lassie was a member of Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church. On July 28, 2012, the Lord called Lassie home. She will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews her many friends, but our loss is Heavens gain. Lassie is survived by; Nieces and Nephews, Wilma Glover, Gail (Roy) Waldrop all of Lafayette, Sharon (Don) Smith of Indiana, Brenda (Dexter) Freeman, Randy (Wendy) Ragland, Teresa (Elder Terry) Austin all of Lafayette, TN, Elder Gerald (Susan) Ragland of Pleasant Shade, TN, Joyce (Calvin) Turner of Gallatin, several Great Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral Services for Lassie Ragland were conducted on Monday, July 30 at 3PM from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Gerald Ragland, Calvin Turner, and Brother Bryan Morgan officiating. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers were, Jill Della Fave, Gina Miller, Allison Cox, Amanda Ragland, and Cindy Stinson. Bryan Morgan, Brad Morgan, Johnny Austin, Joey Austin, Kevin Ragland, Joshua Ragland, Patrick Austin, and Justin Smith served as Active Pallbearers.
