Obituary of Vonnell Hire Harper White

Vonnell Hire Harper White was born on January 23, 1933 in Macon County, Tennessee to the late Charlie Herbert Hire and Celia Velera Hanes Hire. She was one of two siblings born to this family. On May 5, 1951, Vonnell was married to Albert "Tab" Harper. They shared twenty-five years together. Four sons and one daughter were born to this union. Later, on June 29, 1985, Vonnell was married to Earl B. White, better known as "Pick" and gained one step-son. They also shared twenty-five years together. Vonnell and Pick loved each other and cherished their children. They enjoyed spending all the time possible with their family and grandchildren. They enjoyed having gatherings and playing music. Pick preceded Vonnell in death on March 9th 2011. Besides her husband and parents; brother, Willie B. Hire and grandson, Jason Harper also preceded Vonnell in death. At the age of 10, Vonnell was saved during services at Pleasant Hill General Baptist Church, later in 1968 at the age of 35 she was baptized at Union Hill General Baptist Church. Sunday, July 29, 2012 the Lord called Vonnell home. She will be sadly missed by her family and her many friends, but our loss is Heavens gain. She is survived by; Sons, Albert (Carol) Harper Jr. of Lafayette, TN, Donald (Debbie) Harper of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Michael (Vickie) Harper of Scottsville, KY, Charlie (Angela) Harper of Lafayette, TN, Daughter, Pat (Joe) Jones of Franklin, KY, Step-son, Wayne (Cathy) White of Lafayette, TN, several grandchildren, step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Vonnell White were conducted, Wednesday at 2 pm from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Reverend Harold King and Elder Jimmy Cox officiating.
