Obituary of Lorene Hannah Kemp

Lorene Hannah Kemp was born on April 23, 1931 in Macon County, Tennessee to the late Bodie Gregory and Minnie Jane Gregory. She was one of five siblings born to this union. Lorene grew-up in the Old Bottom Area in Macon County. She was married at a young age to Jurl C. Kemp and they shared two sons, and one daughter. Besides her husband and parents; son, Barry Michael Kemp, brothers, Audie Gregory, W.P. Gregory, and J.D. "Dude" Gregory also preceded her in death. Lorene worked for Form-Fit Rogers for several years. Later on she went to work at Carter's Automotive; she retired there after twenty-plus years of service. She was like most women; Lorene could spend the day shopping at the Malls or the Flea Markets. Listening to music was something she enjoyed, especially George Jones and Dolly Parton. Lorene had a green thumb when it came to growing flowers. Her favorite pass time was talking on the phone to friends and family. She was close to her brothers and sister and loved them very much. Lorene loved her family and grandchildren, but granddaughter, Ashley had a special place in her heart. She was saved and a member of Union Camp Missionary Baptist Church and also attended Old Bottom Missionary Baptist Church. On Thursday, August 2, 2012 the Lord called Lorene home. Lorene will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Lorene is survived by; Daughter, Pamela (Brian) Naramore, Son, Gary (Paula) Kemp, Sister, Ovie Wilburn, Grandchildren, Ashley Naramore, Jamie (Mary) Kemp, Sherry (Chad) Swindle, and Amy (Jeff) Harper. Funeral services for Lorene were conducted on Sunday, August 5th at 2 pm from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Terry Austin officiating.
