Obituary of Virginia Kathryn Gilmore

Ms. Virginia O'Brien Gilmore, age 85 of Lafayette passed away Thursday afternoon, August 23, 2012 at Knollwood Manor. There will be no services at Alexander Funeral Home, but a Memorial service will be conducted Saturday, September 1st at 2 pm from Glenwood Cemetery in Volusia County, Florida. She was born in St. Paris, Ohio to the late E. W. O'Brien and Helen Luther O'Brien. Virginia was married to Robert B. Gilmore on November 6, 1942, sharing fifty-five years together. They had three sons, Randy, Terry, and Robert. Her husband, Robert preceded her in death on December 26, 1997. Besides her husband and parents; brothers, Robert O'Brien, Charles O'Brien, and Donald O'Brien, also preceded her in death. Virginia was a homemaker who loved to work in her garden and pamper her house plants. She enjoyed listening to music and playing cards. Virginia was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Virginia is survived by; Sons, Randy Gilmore and wife Lisa, and Terry Gilmore and wife LaWonda all of Lafayette, TN, and Robert Gilmore and wife Cheryl of Deland, Florida, Grandchildren, Brad Mann and wife Teresa of Florida, Tim Gilmore and wife Tammy of Lafayette, TN, Robert Gilmore and wife Linda of Florida, Heather Beard and husband Ralph of Mt. Juliet, TN, Will Weddle and wife Dawn of Florida, and Patrick Gilmore and Justin Gilmore of Lafayette , TN, and 8 Great-grandchildren.
