Obituary of Bennie Swindle

Bennie Swindle was born on February 27, 1948 in Lafayette, Tennessee to the late Wrethel D. Swindle and Fannie Lee Dyer Swindle. He was one of six siblings born to this family. Besides his parents; brother, James Swindle also preceded Bennie in death. He married the love of his life, the former Judith Laverne Rush on July 30, 1966. They shared forty-six years together and raised one son and two daughters. Bennie and Judith owned and operated and Upholstery shop in Red Boiling Springs and later moved it to Lafayette. They enjoyed working together and meeting the public. Bennie retired in February of 2010. He had a great personality, always smiling and telling jokes. Everyone enjoyed being in his company. Bennie loved to go to the lake and fish, it was his way of relaxing. He also enjoyed working in flowers and the garden. The most important thing in life, Bennie would always say was, "Family". He loved Judith and you seldom seen them apart. The kids, grandkids, and great grandkids were just icing on the cake. Bennie savored every moment, when the family would gather during the Holidays. He was a member of Haysville Missionary Baptist Church. On Monday, September 17, 2012 the Lord called Bennie Home. Judith, the children, and many friends will greatly miss his love and smile; but our loss is Heaven's gain. He is survived by; Loving wife, Judith Swindle, son, Larry (Lisa) Swindle, daughters, Melanie (Keith) Hall, Tiffany (Scott) Ludick, grandchildren, Keshia (Matt) Goodchild, Felecia (Ryan ) Trammel, Chase Hall, Lindsay Swindle and Fiancé' Dustin Moore, Logan Swindle, Kyndal and Kaycee Ludick, great-grandchildren, Shyla and Shaylie Goodchild, Kerrigan Trammel and Kaylen Moore, brothers, Joe (Linda) Swindle, Henry (Violet) Swindle, and Coney (Barbara) Swindle, sister, Mary (Roy) Midgett all of Lafayette, TN, sister-in-law, Dorothy Swindle of Hartsville, TN. Funeral services for Bennie were conducted Wednesday, at 2 pm from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Brad Carver and Brother Jerry Gammon. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers were, Don Traylor, Tom McCall, Joe Carter, John McCall, Tom Grant, Stanley Johnson, Barry Newberry, Rich Ludick, and Phillip Brawner. Serving as Active Pallbearers were, Elmore Swindle, Dennis Swindle, Leslie Swindle, Leslie Whitt Cook, Benton Earl Dyer, Dean Dyer, Bill Dyer, Teddy Swindle, and Ronnie Lee Gregory. Interment followed in the Haysville Cemetery.
