Obituary of Mae Christine Bohanan

Christine Bohanan was born in Macon County, on May 26, 1924 to the late Leonard Loney Butrum and Bessie Napier Butrum. She was one of two siblings born to this union. A half-sister and half-brother were born during her father's second marriage. On May 25, 1940, Christine was married to the love of her life, Hillious Bohanan. They shared fifty-five years together; Hillious preceded her in death on, November 28, 1995. Besides her husband and parents; brother, Chris Butrum, and sister, Duerene Butrum Shaw, also preceded Christine in death. Christine worked for Form-Fit Rogers as a seamstress for over twenty-five years, before retiring. She loved and cherished being around children. Though she never had children of her own, Christine helped raise Peggy Butrum Sutton, Betty Butrum Crawshaw, and others. She enjoyed working outside in her flowers and her garden. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting. Everyone that knew Christine dearly loved her. She was such a loving person with a gracious heart. She was a dedicated member of the White Oak Church of Christ. On Tuesday, September 25, 2012, Christine passed away. She will be greatly missed by her family, and many friends. Christine is survived by; Sister, Linda Butrum of Indianapolis, IN, Grandchild at Heart, Ashley Bohanon Coulter of Lafayette, TN, Daughter at Heart and Caregiver, Mary Jo Bohanon of Fountain Run, KY, Niece, Judy Rozelle of Indiana, Nephews, John Shaw and Dan Shaw both of Minnesota, and Marty Shaw of Indiana. Funeral services for Christine Bohanan were conducted Saturday, September 29th at 2 pm from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Mike Rogers officiating. Shawn Scruggs, Josh Coulter, James coulter, Garrison coulter, Randy Napier, and Eddie Rich. Interment followed in the Underwood Cemetery. Alexander Funeral Home, Directors, in charge of arrangements.
