Obituary of Willie Evelyn Johnson

Willie Evelyn Johnson was born in Macon County, on January 15, 1932 to the late Jessie Denton Cothron and Jewell Lavada Gregory Cothron. She was one of three siblings born to this union. As a young lady she was married to James H. Johnson, James passed away on April 26, 1989. They have three sons, Jerry, Stan, and Jeff, that Willie Evelyn loved deeply. Besides her husband and parents; brother, H.C. Cothron also preceded her in death. Willie Evelyn worked for Macon County General Hospital in housekeeping, for several years. She enjoyed going to the Smoky Mountains and eating out with her family. Willie Evelyn liked watching television game shows and talking on the phone. Willie Evelyn was a dedicated member of Meadorville Missionary Baptist Church where she went every chance she could. On October 26, 2012, the Lord called Willie Evelyn home. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends, but our loss is Heavens gain. Funeral services for Willie Evelyn were conducted Sunday at 3 pm, from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Morris Cothron officiating. John Johnson and Jessie Johnson served as Honorary Pallbearers. Joel Jones, Butch Jones, Danny Bartley, Danny Brummitt, Jackie Porter, and Danny Joe Gregory served as Active Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park. She is survived by, Sons and Daughters-in-law, Jerry (Evelyn) Johnson, Jeff Johnson all of Lafayette, TN, Stan (Janet) Johnson of Red Boiling Springs, TN, Brother and Sister-in-law, Rayburn (Mable) Cothron of Lafayette, TN, Grandchildren, Butch Jones, Jessie Johnson, Joel Jones, Deanna Johnson, and Josh Johnson, eight Great Grandchildren, and one Great Great-grandchild, also survives.
