Obituary of Billy Lane Meador

Billy Lane Meador was born in Franklin, Kentucky, on June 24, 1934 to the late Willie Meador and Gracie Smith Meador. He was one of three siblings born to this union. On November 7, 1981, Billy married the former Dorothy Caruthers, sharing thirty-one years together. Besides Billy's parents; one sister, Betty Jean Perrigo preceded him in death. He stayed on the road most of his life driving a truck, then later went to work for Toshiba, retiring in 2000. When Billy wasn't on the road, he enjoyed gardening and mowing his yard. He took a lot of pride in keeping things neat. Billy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who cherished the time spent with his family. He enjoyed having the grandkids around to play, every chance he could. Billy attended Long Creek Missionary Baptist Church. On Friday evening, November 23, 2012, Billy left this world for a better place. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and all his many friends. Funeral Services for Billy Lane Meador were conducted on Monday, November 26 at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Anthony Hale officiating. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers were Austin McClard, Billy's Long Creek Neighbors; Don Traylor, Mike Rogers, Jason Marshall, Gus Fisher, and Roger Minchey. Serving as Active Pallbearers were Travis Cothron, Dillion Meador, Dustin Meador, William McCathran, Nathan Strack, and Wyatt Sullivan. Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens. He is survived by; Wife, Dorothy Meador of Lafayette, TN, Daughter, Scarlett (John) Prine of Bowling Green, KY, Sons, Steven (Christal) Meador of Bowling Green, KY, Danny Cothron, Randy (Regina) Cothron, and Bryan (Anneleise) Cothron all of Lafayette, TN, Brother, Wille Meador Jr. of Pensacola, FL, ten Grandchildren, and nine Great-Grandchildren also survive.
