Obituary of Donald C. Jones

Donald C. Jones was born in Akersville, Kentucky on June 30, 1932 to Layton E. and Brittie Doss Jones He departed this life December 5, 2012, making his stay on Earth 80 years 5 months 5 days. On November 6, 1954, he married the love of his life Betty Lou Stevens. To this union was born three children, Don, David, and Susan, three grandchildren, and Casey, Jotham, and Shannon, three great grandchildren, Hayden, Easton, and Camryn. After a tragic accident on May 18, 194, God called Betty home. On December 25, 1998 he married Bonnie Jean Holland and gained two step-sons, Ricky and Mike then on November 4, 2008, God called Bonnie home as well. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jesse and Hillious, and survived by two brothers, Raymond and Clyde, and one sister, Laverne. He worked for Lafayette Manufacturing as a Lumberyard Supervisor, retiring after forty-three years of service. Donald was a hardworking, loving, caring, kind hearted man, who gave all he had to his family. He always made sure his family was taken care of at all times. As a young man, Donald enjoyed bird hunting and always loved fishing. He also liked to play cards with his family and friends. At a young age, he was saved by the grace of God and later joined Brattontown Missionary Baptist Church, where he remained a member until his passing. Donald will be sadly missed by all who knew him, but our loss is Heavens gain. Funeral services for Donald C. Jones were conducted Saturday morning, December 8th at 10 am from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Ricky Holland officiating. Steve Swindle and Jim Wright served as Honorary Pallbearers. Casey Wright, Jotham Jones, Thomas Toney, Don Stevens, Jackie Stevens, and Nathan Jones served as Active Pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Drury Cemetery.
