Obituary of Donald Raye Bergdorf

Donald Raye Bergdorf was born in Macon County, Tennessee, on August 2, 1944 to the late Harvey Layton and Ada Gustine Sexton Bergdorf. He was one of nine siblings born to this union. As a young man, Donald was married and raised one son and one daughter, Ricky and Donna. Donald worked over the years on the Assembly Line in different Factories. Besides his parents; twin sister, Joyce Faye Bergdorf, sister, Peggy Ann Bergdorf and brothers, Joe and Edward Wayne Bergdorf also preceded Donald in death. In his spare time, Donald enjoyed going to his grandsons Baseball Games. Donald was also an avid Nascar Fan. Donald was a member of the Lafayette First Baptist Church. On Monday, December 24, 2012, he departed this world for a better place. He will be greatly missed by his family and all his many friends, but our loss is Heaven's gain. Funeral services for Donald Raye Bergdorf were conducted Thursday at 11am from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder J. B. Shoulders officiating. Interment followed in the Roark Cemetery. Donald is survived by, Son, Ricky Bergdorf of Franklin, KY, Daughter, Donna (Rob) Whittemore of Westmoreland, TN, Brothers, H.L. (Butch) Bergdorf of Lafayette, TN, and David Bergdorf of Hartsville, TN, Sisters, Virginia (Harold) Atkins of Lafayette, TN, Linda (Benny) Clark of Gallatin, TN, Six grandchildren, Four great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
