Obituary of Willie Ruth McDonald

Willie Ruth McDonald was born in the Oak Knob Community in Macon County, Tennessee on September 18, 1919 to the late Ed and Etta Bandy Jent. She was one of seven children born to this union. As a young woman, Willie Ruth was married on November 25, 1941to Cornell Clarence McDonald. They raised one son, Roger and had one infant daughter, Rebecca McDonald they both preceded her in death. In 1985, Cornell passed away. Besides her husband, children, and parents; brothers, Floyd Jent, and Ralph Jent, sisters, Hazel Smith and Pauline Hughes also preceded her in death. Willie Ruth enjoyed spending her life at home, caring for her family. Family was always top priority to her. Willie Ruth loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and spent all the time she could with them. She was a huge baseball fan; Willie Ruth liked to watch baseball on T.V. and loved Pete Rose. She had recently become a Braves fan, also. Willie Ruth enjoyed working crossword puzzles and gardening in her spare time. She was saved and is a member of Dixon Creek Missionary Baptist Church. On Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the age of 93, the Lord called Willie Ruth home. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Funeral services for Willie Ruth were conducted Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens. Connie Wilburn, Tommy Law, Gary Law, Don Jent, Scotty McDonald, and Jason Wix served as pallbearers. Willie Ruth is survived by; Daughter -in-law, Jayne McDonald, Grandchildren, Kelley McDonald, Marty (Michelle) McDonald, Holly (Jason) Wix, Great-Grandchildren, Scotty McDonald, Morgan McDonald, Hayden Wix, Trace McDonald, and Adasen Wix, Sisters, Gladys Law, and Evelle Massey, several nieces and nephews also survive.
