Obituary of Charles Wayne Reid

CHARLES WAYNE REID was born in Macon County, Tennessee on April 17, 1943 to the late Burford "Buck" and Evie Butrum Reid. Charles was one of 10 children born to this union. Besides his parents, Charles was also preceded in death by; sister, Nadean Reid and brothers, Billy Reid and J. C. Reid. As a young man, Charles was married to Betty Joyce Robinson. Together they shared almost 48 years and raised two sons. Charles worked at the Macon County times for several years, and after leaving the Times, he spent 15 years working for the City of Lafayette with the Street Department. Charles retired in 2008. As a young man, he enjoyed fishing and playing golf, but his health limited his recreational time in more recent years. Charles was of the Baptist belief. On Monday, February 4, 2013, the Lord called Charles home. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. Funeral services for Charles Wayne Reid were conducted on Thursday, February 7, 2013, from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Carson officiating. Interment followed in the Anderson Memorial Park. Austin Reid, Barrett Reid, Phillip Brockette, Kenny Robinson, Eric Reid, and Carl Reid served as pallbearers. Charles is survived by; wife, Betty Reid, sons, Barry Wayne and wife Theresia Reid and Bryan Allen and wife Pam Reid, grandchildren, Austin Reid, Barrett Reid, Gabriella Reid, and Haylee Reid, step grandson, Kyle Biles, brothers, James Reid and Gene and wife Valerie Reid All of Lafayette, TN, sisters, Oma Lee Tuck of Gallatin, TN, Rose Dotson, Janice Reid, and Brenda Russell all of Lafayette, TN, several brothers and sisters in law and nieces and nephews also survive.
