Obituary of Gary Lynn Lamb

Gary Lynn Lamb was born in Macon County, Tennessee on April 15, 1946 to the late Willie Lamb and Alice Helen Bandy. He was one of two siblings born to this union. On December 17, 1970 Gary was married to the love of his life Janice Elkins. They raised six children and shared many wonderful years. Besides his parents; Son Lannie Lamb, Daughter Pennie Lamb, Grandson Terry Roark, and Great Granddaughter Hailey Amons also preceded Gary in death. Gary owned and operated Gary's Trucking and Paving. He enjoyed this work, and loved bringing his grandkids in to work alongside him. He was a man that loved to work with his hands. He enjoyed working on old cars, working with his horses and buggies, going to truck pulls and drag races, but above all he loved spending time with his family. He was a big cut up and enjoyed aggravating the ones he loved. Gary was a member of the New Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. On Thursday, February 7, 2013, the Lord called Gary home, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services for Gary Lamb were conducted on Sunday, February 10, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Reverend Kenneth Wix and Brother James Warner officiating. Interment followed in the Eulia Cemetery. Stanley Young, Johnny Lamb, Dwight Rollin, Denver Parsley, Dwight Bray, Josh Watson, Steven Huntsman, and Randy Lamb served as pallbearers. Gary's grandchildren and great grandchildren served as honorary pallbearers. Gary is survived by; wife, Janice Marie Lamb of Lafayette, TN, sons, Danny (Tammy) Lamb of Lafayette, TN, and Tommy (Tina) Lamb of Nashville, TN, daughters, Sharon (Terry) Rice of Red Boiling Springs, TN, and Teresa (Mike) Hooten of Lafayette, TN, brother, James (Georgia) Lamb of Hartsville, TN and several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.
