Obituary of Earl Robert Schawo

Earl Robert Schawo was born in Liberal, Kansas on June 28, 1948 to the late Leland William and Betty Jean Brown Schawo. Earl was the second of six siblings born to this union. As a young man Earl was married and had two daughters. Earl was enlisted into the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He served in Vietnam from 1967-1969 before being honorably discharged. Earl worked as a truck driver for 25 years before retiring in 1995. Earl loved working on cars and go-karts as young man, and the love of cars followed him through his life. He was an avid race fan who enjoyed all racing, especially NASCAR. Earl was also a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, and he was proud to celebrate 43 years of sobriety in May of this year. On Friday, February 15, 2013, the Lord called Earl home. Funeral services for Earl Schawo are scheduled to be conducted on Tuesday, February 19, at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Carson officiating. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. Earl is survived by; daughters, Sarah C. and Kyle Martin of Lafayette, TN and Mandy Wilson of Coon Rapids, MN, grandchildren, Tanith, Harlee, and Anthony Martin all of Lafayette, TN, sisters, Mary (Larry) Gleason of Omaha, NB, Annis (Norman) Werth of Kansas, Kathy (Randy) Naegle of Kansas, and Marci Milus of Fayetteville, AK, brother, Richard (Vicki) Schawo of Warner Robbins, GA.
