Obituary of Diana Renee Dowland

Diana Renee Dowland was born in Chicago, IL on March 3, 1958 to Norma Ray Thompson Harrell and the late William Thompson. Diana was one of two children born to this union. As a young woman, Diana was married to Georg James Franc, Sr. and together they had three sons. She later married Roy Dowland and gained a new family with Roy's 4 children. Besides her father, Diana was also preceded in death by a son, Christopher Mathew Franc. Diana worked as a paralegal for a period of time before becoming an administrative assistant with Whitehall Jewelers. In her spare time, Diana was a huge supporter of PETA and the ASPCA. She had a love for all animals and her heart broke at the sight of abused or mistreated pets. Diana enjoyed life to the fullest. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was of the Catholic Belief. On Friday, February 15, 2013, the Lord called Diana home. Funeral services for Diana Renee Dowland were conducted on Wednesday, February 20, at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Father Vic officiating. Interment followed in the Macon County Memorial Gardens. Craig Dowland, George Franc, Sr., George Franc, Jr., Daniel Franc, Matthew Thompson, and Allen Moore served as pallbearers. Diana is survived by; husband, Roy Dowland of Lafayette, TN, sons, Georg James Franc, Jr. of Jalalabad Afghanistan and Daniel Keith (Mary Frances) Franc of Lafayette, mother, Norma Harrell of Lafayette, brother, Dennis (Linda) Thompson of Lafayette, grandchildren,Virginia Nicolle Franc, Christopher Daniel Franc, and Aron Keith Franc all of Lafayette, stepchildren, Lisa Dowland of Pensacola, FL, Christopher Dowland, Amy Dowland, and Karen Dowland all of Horn Lake, MS, Father of her children, Georg James Franc, Sr. of Westmoreland.
