Obituary of Virginia F. Moore

Virginia Flake Moore was born in Lafayette, TN on December 11, 1930 to the late John Bond Richmond Knight and Ruby Lou Fishburn Knight. Virginia was one of two siblings born to this union. As a young woman, Virginia met the love of her life, Johnnie Cilous Moore, at a cake walk at Underwood School. On August 6, 1949, Virginia and Johnnie were married. They shared a wonderful life together and raised one son, Ronnie, and two daughters, Renea and Regina. Virginia worked in retail sales at Galyan's Sporting Goods in Greenwood, Indiana, retiring in 1992. She liked gardening and canning her harvest. Virginia enjoyed caring for her husband and family. On January 27, 2012, after sixty-two years together, Johnnie passed away. She was saved and a member of Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church, and also attended Beech Grove Baptist Church in Trafalgar, Indiana. On Friday, February 22, 2013, the Lord called Virginia home and once again she will reunite with Johnnie. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Funeral services for Virginia were conducted on Tuesday, February 26 at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Sodrel officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were; Chad Moore, Zach Winsby, Marty McDonald, Hal Underwood, Jr., Coney Swindle, Hal Underwood, Sr., and Ernie Mullet. Interment followed in the Red Hill Cemetery. Virginia is survived by; Son, Ronnie (Karen) Moore of Lafayette, TN, Daughters, Renea (Chuck) Winsby of Trafalgar, IN, Regina (Steve) Alleman of Fairbanks, AK, Grandchildren, Chad (Mindy) Moore, Michelle (Marty) McDonald all of Lafayette, TN, Angie (Hal) Underwood, Amanda (Faith) Hicks, Cassie Hill, Zachary Winsby all of Trafalgar, IN, Sister, Burree Patterson of Lafayette, 12 Great- Grandchildren, 2 Great- Great- Grandchildren.
