Obituary of Earl Clinton Ford

Earl Clinton Ford was born in Macon County, Tennessee on January 1, 1923 to the late Artist Dewey Ford and Hallie Laveena Leath Ford. He was one of seven siblings born to this union. On March 7, 1942, Earl married the love of his life, the former Myrtle Lillian Farley. They shared their lives of seventy-one years together and raised two daughters. He served in the Army during World War II from 1944 - 1946. After returning home from the war, Earl was working one day in a tobacco patch when the Lord saved his soul. He jumped in his car to go and tell his sister but before he got there the devil cheated him out of telling it. Earl did later tell what the Lord did for him, and he joined Cedar Bluff Missionary Baptist Church. He was Ordained as a Deacon of the Church and remained a faithful member. Earl's life revolved around farming and he worked in Agriculture for over twenty years as a Federal Tobacco Grader. He played baseball as a young man. He loved watching sports, and was a big UT fan and Earl loved the Lady Vols. He was a Fifty-three year member of the Lafayette Masonic Lodge # 543 F& AM, and had served in the past as a board member of the Macon County School Board. Earl enjoyed hunting, playing rook, and growing roses. He was a true family man and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On March 23, 2013, the Lord called Earl home. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones and all who knew him. Funeral Services for Earl Ford were conducted from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home on Monday, March 25, at 1 p.m. with Elder Floyd Ferguson officiating. Jerry Stone, Freddie Scruggs, Carl Gregory, Gary Leath, and Mark Shrum were Honorary Pallbearers. Joel Brooks, Stevie Brooks, Donald Wix, Mike Whittemore, Jason Ford, and David Cowan served as Active Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Eulia Cemetery. Mr. Ford is survived by; Wife, Myrtle Ford, Daughters, Patricia (Doug) Rich, Cindy Ford, Grandchildren, Leigh Anne (Jeff) Duncan all of Lafayette, TN, Patrick and Wendy Rich of Tell City, Indiana, Great grandchildren, Autumn, Summer, and Ella Rich all of Tell City, IN, Sister, Jean Knight of Castalian Springs, TN, Brother, Jerry (Sandy) Ford of Hartsville, TN.
