Betty Murray

Obituary of Betty Murray

Betty Jo Murray was born in Dickson, Tennessee on September 16, 1938 to the late Mac and Mary Scalf. In 1957, she was married to Jay Harold Murray sharing eighteen years together; Jay preceded her in death 1975. Betty's life revolved around her family. Being the mother of two sons and two daughters kept Betty busy. Betty was a very caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved being at home with her children and took great pride in keeping her home neat and tidy. No matter how her grandchildren looked, the first thing she would always tell them was how pretty or handsome they were. Betty was a woman who put everyone else first. She loved fresh air and sunshine, spending all the time she could outdoors. On Sunday evenings she was not to be bothered because she was too busy watching the Titans play. Betty's perfect day consisted of Lifetime movies and coffee. On April 3, 2013, Betty left this world for a better place. Betty will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Funeral services for Betty J. Murray were conducted Friday, April 5, at 1 pm from the Alexander Funeral Home with Brother Ricky Vance officiating.
