Obituary of Johnnie Draper

Johnnie Evans Draper was born in Macon County, Tennessee on September 1, 1929 to the late Charlie Draper and Macon Mathis Draper. He was one of three siblings born to this union. As a young man, Johnnie served two years in the United Sates Army, during the Korean War. Johnnie was never married and spent most of his time doing carpenter work for the public. He enjoyed wood working, making several pieces of furniture during his life. Drawing and painting was a talent of Johnnie's and he spent several hours working on different pieces. He loved his family and had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews. Johnnie said that he was saved a long time ago and he was ready. On April 5, 2013 at the age of 83, the Lord called Johnnie home. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. Funeral Services for Johnnie Draper were conducted on Saturday, April 6, at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Lonnie Meador officiating. Jeff Carter, Matthew Newport, Kerry Newport, David Draper, Tim Draper, and Aaron Massengile served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Haysville Cemetery. Johnnie is survived by, Brother, Bobby (Dorothy) Draper of Lafayette, TN, Sister, Geneva Lois Clayborn of Gallatin, Nephews, Bobby J. Draper of Florida, Tim Draper of Grundy County, TN, and David Draper of Lafayette, TN, Nieces, Crystal (Jeff) Carter of Westmoreland, TN, and Christie Newport of Lafayette, TN, several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
