Gabe Johns

Obituary of Gabe Johns

Gabriel James "Gabe" Johns, the son of Tim and Tina Johns, was born March 29, 1994. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers Elijah (Brittany) and Zachery, two sisters Claudia and Anna and a niece Sophia Johns. He is also survived by grandparents W.C. and Ruby Johns of Gallatin and Bob and Ann Stewart of Lafayette. Gabe was reserved and loving and had many friends that cherish memories of a special young man. One such memory was related by his girlfriend. Gabe went to church with her and they sang the "days of the week" song. She and Gabe discussed what to do? She said she was saved and asked Gabe if he was saved. He said he was, but he did not want to stand up. Gabe's conversation with his girlfriend along with similar conversations with other friends gives the family great comfort and joy during this time of grief. Gabe was part of a very large extended family. Birthdays and family gatherings were always a special occasion for the family. He also worked daily with Elijah and Zach. Gabe enjoyed his diesel Dodge and on his Facebook page, his Mom wrote: Your truck is ready! Your brothers have on the tires you had bought for it, and they have washed and waxed it. I know you are proud of them. Their hearts are broken from losing you. Going to work won't be the same when you are not there with them. Baby we all miss you so! A Large group of Gabe's friends expressed their love for him at the gathering on the square Friday night in the rain. The family thanks everyone for this outpouring of love, the many visitors at Vanderbilt, the calls, the texts, the food and the many prayers offered up for Gabe and the family. This week, Gabe went to his home the Lord prepared for him when he saved him, he is at peace and he wants you to be ready to see him on the other side. Thank you all.
