Obituary of Rosie Lee Sullivan

Rosie Lee Linville Sullivan was born in Macon County, Tennessee on August 27, 1917 to the late Elder Hurley Smith Linville and Lillian Daisy Carr Linville. She was one of seven siblings born to this union. Besides her parents; brother, Wallace Linville, sisters, Avie McWhirter, Virgie Burroughs, Mary Lou Flatt, Gladis Howser, and Macie Hickman, Nephew, Jerry Howser, also preceded Rosie in death. Rosie enjoyed taking care of her home and spending time with her family. To her family, who she loved so dearly, she was Aunt Rosie. To her neighbors and friends, she was Ms. Rosie. To the children she cared for, she became Mama Rosie. At the age of 17, Rosie was born into the Family of God on September 23, 1934 at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church. She joined Fairview on September 24, 1934. She loved going to church, she was a humble servant to the Lord. The songs and testimonies that she shared over the years will be a part of our memories, for years to come. To the brothers and sisters in Christ that she labored and worked with, she was Sister Rosie. She was a member of the Rocky Mound Missionary Baptist Church at the time of her death. On April 30, 2013, the Lord called Rosie to her heavenly home. She is now singing and rejoicing with the Angels. Funeral Services for Rosie Sullivan were conducted on Friday, May 3, at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Reverend Harold King officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were Jerry Butcher, Gary Haskins, Terry Howser, Elder Walter Andrews, Charles Wilkerson, and Jackie Cline. Interment followed in the Rocky Mound Cemetery. Ms. Rosie is survived by; Niece, Wilma (Reverend Harold King) of the Rocky Mound Community in Macon County, TN, Nephews, Lewis (Fay) McWhirter of Gallatin, TN, Edwin (Mildred) McWhirter of Bethpage, TN, Melvin (Mary Lou) McWhirter, Robert McWhirter all of Indianapolis, several great, great-great, and great-great-great-nieces and nephews also survive.
