Obituary of Travis Jackson Kirby

Travis Jackson Kirby was born in Macon County, TN on December 9, 1941 to the late Corbain Kirby and Retta Kirby. He was one of nine siblings born to this union. As a young man he was married to the love of his life Lou Ann Kirby on March 8, 1963. Together they raised their daughter Cynthia, and shared many wonderful years together. Travis worked for the Wilson County Road commission for 18 years and was very proud of his work. Travis was an avid outdoorsman, and loved fishing and hunting. Most of all Travis was a family man, and enjoyed spending time with his loved ones. He was a spiritual man, and was a member of the Mt. Juliet Church of Christ. On May 15, 2013 the Lord called Travis home. He will be truly missed by all of his family, friends, and all that knew and loved him. Funeral Services for Travis Kirby were conducted Saturday at 1 pm from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with David Shannon officiating. The Wilson County Road Commission co-workers served as Honorary Pallbearers. Jimmy Shrum, Chad Horner, Ronnie Armstead, Buddy Grandstaff, Terry Binion, Daniel Reasonover, Steven Lee, and (Big John) served as Active Pallbearers. Interment Followed in the Galen Cemetery. Travis is survived by; Wife, Lou A. Kirby, Daughter, Cynthia C. Kirby, Mother, Retta Kirby, Sisters, Lil (Wilson) Burton, Janice (Ray) Beam, Lanita Kirby Fran Gross, Brothers, Glen (Greta) Kirby, Wally (Nancy) Kirby, Jerrell (Merylin) Kirby, Hal (Ann) Kirby, Steve (Lisa) Kirby, and Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
