Obituary of Amos D. Nash

Amos David Nash was born in Macon County, Tennessee on March 5, 1928 to the late Acie and Ersye Grant Nash. He was one of eight siblings born to this union and had one half-brother. Besides his parents; sisters, Hattie Scurlock and Lillie Carter, brothers, Edmond Buck Nash, Benton Nash, and Joe Nash, and half-brother, Lesley Grant also preceded him in death. At the age of twenty-seven, Amos was sitting in a straight back chair in the living room when the Lord saved his soul. He joined Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church on August 20, 2007 and was baptized August 27, 2007. Amos was a farm hand, working on local neighborhood farms. His past time was spent working in his garden. He also raised mules and horses and loved riding them. Amos liked to hunt and was a member of the American Rifle Association. He played guitar and listened to gospel and country music. On June 22, 2013, at the age of 85, the Lord called Amos home. He will be missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. Amos is survived by, Sisters, Vallie Dillehay of Red Boiling Springs, TN, and Jewell Jones of Alabama, Sisters-in-law, Belvie Nash of Lafayette, TN, and Mildred Hines of Olmstead, Kentucky, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Funeral services for Amos D. Nash were conducted Tuesday, June 25th at 11 am from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Terry Austin and Reverend Jerry Wix officiating. Eddie Nash, Roger Tuck, Wayne Tuck, Steve White, Kevin Wilder, and Jerry Scurlock served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Liberty Cemetery.
