Obituary of Joyce Gale Sliger

Joyce Gale Sliger, better known as Gale was born in Wilson County, Tennessee on July 11, 1950 to the late Dessie Mitchell Driver and Hessie Mae Reid Driver. She was one of four siblings born to this union. Besides her parents; one son, Jeffrey Wayne Sliger and one brother, David Driver also preceded Gale in death. As a young lady, Gale was married to the love of her life Kendall Sliger. They had shared forty-three wonderful years together and raised two sons and one daughter. Gale enjoyed being outside, helping Kendall on the farm or working in her garden. She also worked in Retail for Walmart until 2007, when she retired. Gale's past-time was spent sewing, making flower arrangements and doing other crafts. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. For Gale, a day with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren made life complete. Gale was a member of the Lafayette Church of Christ. On Friday, July 12, 2013, Gale went to her new home called, Heaven. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her, but our loss is Heaven's gain. Funeral services for Joyce Gale Sliger were conducted Monday, July 15, 2013 at 11 am from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Jerry Mercer officiating. Jeffrey Sliger, Matt Huffines, Nick Kirby, Steven Johnson, Andy Sliger, Adam Ray, Cody Roark, and Nate Romine served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Haysville Cemetery. Gale is survived by; Husband, Kendall Sliger, Daughter, Kristi Hall, and Son, Scottie (Shane) Sliger all of Lafayette, TN, Grandchildren, Keshia (Matt) Huffines of Castalian Springs, TN, Dani (Johnathan) Whittemore, Jeffrey Sliger, and Alyssa Hall all of Lafayette, TN, Great-grandchildren, Cash Huffines of Castalian Springs, TN, Tallon and Myla Whittemore, Leevi Sliger all of Lafayette, TN, Twin brother, Larry Dale (Rita) Driver of Lafayette, TN, Sister, Linda Cook of Lafayette, TN, and Special Aunt, Mamie McDuffee of Lafayette, TN.
