Obituary of Patsy Cook Carnahan

MRS. PATSY CARNAHAN- age 59 of Lafayette, Tennessee passed away on Saturday Evening April 2, at the Saint Thomas Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral Services for Mrs. Patsy Carnahan were conducted on Wednesday April 6, at 11am from the Chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Danny Holland Officiating. Macon County General Hospital employees and many LPN's served as Honorary Pallbearers. Dewayne Cook, Homer Agee, Randy Carnahan, Troy Davis, Jeff Gentry, and Richard Miller served as Active Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Smith Chapel Cemetery in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee. On November 23, 1972, she was married to the love of her life, Jerry Carnahan. They were blessed with one daughter, Kimberly Jeanette Carnahan and one son Chadwick Wayne Carnahan both of Lafayette. She is also survived by her parents, Elder Stanley Dean and Orilla Dawes Cook of Lafayette, brother, Charles and wife Eltricia Cook of Lafayette, and sister, Joyce and husband Homer Agee, a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Patsy was saved by God's merciful grace as a young girl and united with Days Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church in the revival of 1962. She remained a member until her death. She worked in factories for over 20 years before she finally owned her true calling. One month before her 40th birthday she began the LPN program at Tri-County Vocation School. After graduation and certification as an LPN, she began work with Dr. Brooks in Lafayette. She later worked for Dr. Odinusi and finished her career at Macon County General Hospital. Patsy and Jerry enjoyed getting out on the weekends and riding though the country side in their Jeep. She always wanted to help others and always left them with a smile. She took the role of caring for her family and friends very seriously. Patsy touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Alexander Funeral Home, Directors, in charge of arrangements.
