Obituary of J.C. Driver

MR. J. C. DRIVER - age 78 of Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Westmoreland Care and Rehab. Funeral Services for Mr. J.C. Driver were conducted on Tuesday April 5, at 3pm, from the Chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home with Elder J.E. Shoulders and Elder Guthrie Thompson officiating. Bart Jones, Gordon Jones, Steve Clayborne, Shane Phillips, Mike Driver, Carl C. Fishburn, Larry Joe Wooten, David Doss served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Haysville Cemetery. J. C. was born on May 22, 1932 in Macon County, Tennessee to Connie O. Driver and Alice Berdina Stinson Driver. He was one of ten children born to this union. Besides his parents; three brothers, Quentin Driver, Bevy Driver, and Junior L. Driver, and a sister, Zelia Brooks also preceded him in death. As a young man he worked in pipeline construction, later he came back home and started farming. Farming was what he loved to do especially working in Tobacco. He was a simple man that enjoyed riding around looking at the other farmers' crops. J. C. never was married; he lived with his parents taking care of them until they passed away. He had brothers and sisters that he loved, but his nieces and nephews where his pride and joy. J. C. was of the Baptist Belief and was recently saved during his stay at Sumner Regional Hospital while in his hospital bed. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. J. C. is survived by: Sisters; Tressie Vice of Woodburn, KY, Brenda (Dale) Cline of Franklin, KY, Brothers; Burl (June) Driver of Greenwood, IN, Gene (Rebecca) Driver of Indianapolis, IN, Bill (Pat) Driver of Lafayette, TN, Sister-in-Law; Kay Driver of Martinsville, IN, Special Friend; Roxie Fishburn of Lafayette, TN, several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
