Obituary of Barbara Knight

Ms. Barbara Knight, better known as Barb - age 70, of Lafayette, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday afternoon, June 7, 2011 at The Palace Care & Rehab. Funeral services for Barbara Knight were conducted Friday, June 10 at 11 a.m. from the Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Ricky Wilson and Elder Walter Andrews officiating. Nick Green, Jason Gammon, Winfred Washer, Hayden Roark, Andrew Roark, Jr. Bartley, and Jarvis Hagan served as Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Haysville Cemetery. Barb was born on September 2, 1940 to Genevieve Hagan Jones and the late Johnnie Sherman Jones. She was one of two daughters born to this union. Besides her father; a daughter-in-law, Melanie Wilson also preceded her in death. On June 20, 1975, Barb was married to Rabon Stanley Knight, sharing almost thirty-six years together. She also has two sons from a previous marriage, Jerry and Terry. Her family was her joy, she loved going everywhere with them. The grandkids enjoyed her being at their ballgames even though she could get a little loud; Barb never missed a game. Her family always tried to go to October Fest in the Smoky Mountains and to Mule Days in Columbia. Barb and her family enjoyed the outdoors, whether camping on weekends or showing their Saddle horses in the Shows. She also liked working in her garden and had a great gift in growing beautiful flowers. Barb had worked for Peterbilt for 8 year, Carters Automotive for 17 year, and Wal-Mart for the last 5 year, until her health failed her. She was saved as a young girl and was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Barb will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by; Husband, Rabon Stanley Knight, Sons, Jerry Wayne Wilson, and Terry Allen (Renita) Wilson, Step-son, Jackie Stanley Knight, Mother, Genevieve Jones, Grandchildren, Alicia (Nick) Green, Kayce (Jason) Gammon, and Matt Wilson, Great-grandchildren, Nate and Natalie Green all of Lafayette, Tennessee, Sister, Faye Tuttle of Nashville, TN.
