Obituary of Eddie Lee Swindle

MR. EDDIE SWINDLE - age 55 of Lafayette, passed away suddenly Monday evening July 11, 2011 at the Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral Services for Mr. Eddie Swindle were conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Brother Troy Mungle officiating. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers were Edsel Carter, Rex Swindle, Willie Driver, and Tim Copas. Kevin Wood, Nick Joinville, Jason "Lightning" Carter, John Farber, Teddy Swindle, Ed Taylor, Jarhea Wilmore, and Brian Swindle served as Active Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Testament Cemetery. On January 4, 1956, Eddie was born in Macon County, Tennessee to the late Lee Otis Swindle and Ercie Mae West Swindle. He was born on this day a twin, with brother Teddy who survives. He married the former Sandy Pardue on December 22, 1973. They shared thirty-eight years together and raised two sons. He was a good husband, father, and grandfather. Eddie enjoyed playing with his grandkids and helping raise them. He didn't mind hard work. In his earlier years, he worked for Texas Boot in Hartsville for 20+ years. Eddie raised tobacco crops for several years and worked for Fleetwood Homes for the last fifteen years. He worked at the Gallatin Plant and later moved to the Lafayette Factory when it opened. Most of the time, after work, friends would gather in at Eddie's garage to play horseshoes. Eddie was someone who enjoyed life to the fullest. But most of all, he loved having fun with his family and friends. "Had a heart like a mountain" is what most people would say about Eddie. He always was a giving man and it wasn't uncommon to see Eddie helping someone in time of need. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Eddie leaves behind; Loving Wife, Sandy Swindle, Sons, Darren Swindle and Rene Anderson and Jason (Serena) Swindle all of Lafayette, TN, Grandchildren, Ashton, Tyler, and Mason Swindle, Step-grandchildren, Michael Gray and Justin Hall,Twin Brother, Teddy (Barbara) Swindle of Midway Community in Allen County, KY, Mother-in-law, Florence E.
