Jerry Jarrard

Obituary of Jerry Franklin Jarrard

Jerry F. Jarrard, 56, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 2, 2016, at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Jerry was born July 6, 1960, a native of Lebanon, TN and the Tuckers Cross Roads community. Through his long battle with cancer, Jerry inspired and encouraged an endless number of people with his faith, courage, and determination to beat this horrible disease. He persevered nine years fighting cancer, but lost his life to complications that arose from the disease. Through the many surgeries, hospitalizations, chemotherapy treatments, and ongoing pain, Jerry never complained. He overcame so many obstacles with a positive attitude. He appreciated each day he was given. He never wavered on his faith that God was by his side. Even though we know Jerry isn’t struggling any more and is at peace, there is still pain and sadness. Jerry loved to sit with his dog, Gracie, and listen to Bro. Glenn Denton’s sermons on CD. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family unconditionally. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Jerry enjoyed every moment he had with them, attending as many ballgames and events as his health allowed. Jerry was retired from Nissan, where he was a Maintenance Technician with over twenty-four years of service and developed many close friendships. He attended Hillcrest Baptist Church, Lebanon, TN. Jerry leaves behind his loving, devoted wife, Kimberly, of 37 years; a son Michael (Sarah) Jarrard of Murfreesboro, TN and daughter Kristy Jarrard of Lebanon, TN. Grandchildren, Abbie, Logan, Savannah, Kaylee, and Weston. He also leaves his father James (Ruth) Jarrard, mother Natalie Jarrard, two sisters Nancy Jarrard of Lebanon, TN and Reagan (Terrel) Miller of Washington, DC. He also leaves two nieces and three nephews. In-laws, Kemmel & Lucy Hackett of Lebanon, TN, brother-in-law and sister n-law Clay & Melissa Hudson, and many other beloved family and friends. A celebration of life will be on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. Visitation from 4:00 - 6:00, service 6:00 at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Lebanon, TN.
