Obituary of John Morgan Goforth, Jr.

John Morgan Goforth, Jr. (Junior) went home to be with the Lord on Saturday May 6th, 2017 at 3am at St. Thomas West Hospital.  John was preceded in death by his wife of almost 48 years, Betty and is holding her hand with a smile today, Sam Walden, Brother-in-Law and George Williams, Son-in-Law. "Junior" is survived by his children Pam Williams, Jeffrey Goforth, Jennifer Jordan and was very proud of his six grandchildren Aaron Williams, Megan Goforth, Lissa Goforth, Mollie Goforth, Nicholas Emerton, and Zachary Jordan, also has one great grandchild “Little” George” Turner Williams, sister Frances Walden (Sam, deceased) and family, brother Steve (Sherri) Goforth and family.  John attended Vine Church of Christ in Wilson County and was a beloved member. He graduated from the Class of 1959 at Central High School in Murfreesboro and went on to serve in the United States Navy and then retired from Metro Nashville Government as an environmental engineer. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alive Hospice Nashville.  Services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Sellars Funeral Home, 313 W. Baddour Parkway, Lebanon, TN 37087 at 10:00 a.m. with Randy Ward, presiding.  Visitation will be Monday May 8, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Interment will be in Frisk Cemetery following the ceremony for the family in Hilham, TN. Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN 615.444.9393.
