Obituary of James Edward Shoulders

James Edward “Smokey” Shoulders, age 41 of Watertown, formerly Gallatin, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Thursday, July 13, 2017.  Funeral Service will be Monday, July 17th at Sellar’s Funeral Home Chapel in Lebanon at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Jamie Watson officiating.  Visitation will be Saturday, July 15th at Family Heritage Funeral Home in Gallatin from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 16th at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m., and Monday, July 17th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon.  Honorary pallbearers are Joe Shoulders, David Shoulders, James Johnson, Dell Howse, Charles Yoest, Chad Seay, Ethan Shoulders, Gina Shoulders, and Nicole Shoulders.

Mr. Shoulders was born August 29, 1975 in Gallatin.  He is preceded in death by his step-father, who raised him, William Bryant Shoulders.  He is survived by wife of 6 years, Jessica Yoest Shoulders of Watertown; mother, Bonnie G. Johnson Fuhr and step-father, Richard Fuhr of Cottontown; sons, Ethan Shoulders of Lafayette and David Shoulders of Watertown; daughter, Gina Shoulders of Watertown; brother, Joe Shoulders (Rhonda) of Cottontown; sister, Daphne Howse (Dell) of Cottontown; mother and father-laws, David and Geraldine "Deanie" Yoest of Watertown; very special niece, Nicole Shoulders of Cottontown; nephews, Hatcher Yoest, Manny Seay, and Jeremiah Seay; sister-in-law, Rena Seay (Chad) of Lebanon; brother-in-law, Charles Yoest (Jennifer) of Franklin, TN; a host of aunts and uncles;  grandmother, Tommie Frye of Scottsville, KY; and father, Edward Junior Thaxton of Scottsville, KY.  Online condolences may be submitted at familyheritagefh.com.  Family Heritage Funeral Home and Sellars Funeral Home have been entrusted with arrangements.
