Obituary of Sidney Eugene Johnson

Sidney Eugene Johnson, age 83 of Gallatin, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017.  Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 4th at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Avenue), with Bro. Doyle Farris officiating.  Interment will follow at Gallatin Cemetery, with Nick Johnson, Bryan Johnson, Brian Johnson, Larry Wheeler, Billy Spitznas, and Scottie Singleton serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will be Friday, November 3rd from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 4th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.

Mr. Johnson was born September 11, 1934 in Corinth, Mississippi, to the late James Tapley Johnson and Maggie Brown Johnson.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Larry Johnson.  He is survived by wife of 58 years, Patsy Wheeler Johnson of Gallatin; sons, Keith Johnson (Lisa) of Gallatin, Doug Johnson (Cathy) of Gallatin, and Ken Johnson (April) of Hendersonville; 4 grandchildren, Stephanie Johnson, Nick Johnson, Allyson Johnson, Bryan Johnson; and 3 great grandchildren, Cydney Cothron, Mason Singleton, and Cady Borders.  Mr. Johnson was a Company Rep. for Blue Cross Blue Shield in Mississippi for several years.  He was the owner of Custom Computer Systems in Gallatin for over 12 years.  He enjoyed history and genealogy.  He served in the United States Army, and was a member of Military Order of Stars and Bars, Sons of American Revolution, and Sons of Confederate Veterans.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
