Obituary of Frances Woods

Frances Woods, age 90 of Gallatin, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017.  Funeral Service will be Wednesday, November 15th at 10:00 a.m. from the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Avenue), with Bro. Brian Jarrett officiating.  Visitation will be Tuesday, November 14th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday November 15th from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memory Gardens, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Woods was born October 15, 1927 in Pleasant Shade, TN to the late Johnny Edward Woodard and Flossie Irene Chaffin Woodard.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Louie F. Woods; brother, Junior Woodard; and sister, Robbie West.  She is survived by children, Clarence Leon Cox of Gallatin, Carl Lewis Cox of LaVergne, Glen Woods of Gallatin, Peggy Jones (Freddie) of Portland, and Jackie Poole (David) of Portland; brother, Donnie Woodard (Anna) of Pleasant Shade, TN;  sisters, Jo Helen Nixon of Carthage, Ruby Mae West of Defeated Creek, and Pauline Kinslow of Lafayette; 4 grandchildren, Catrina Brown (Tim), Natasha Sadler, Heather Sadler, and Makayla Timberlake; and 6 great grandchildren, Hope Brown, Faith Brown, Damien Knight, Patyn Daughtry, Caden West, and Caanan Timberlake.  Mrs. Woods was a member of Hartsville Pike Church of Christ.  She was a cook at City Café’ for many years.  The family would like to give a special thanks to Highpoint Hospice, especially to Mechelle Campbell.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
