Obituary of Ruth E. Caldwell

Ruth E. Caldwell, age 77 of Gallatin, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017.  Funeral Service will be Monday, November 27th at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Avenue), with Pastor Chad Ashman officiating.  Visitation will be Sunday, November 26th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Monday, November 27th from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with her nephews serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Caldwell was born January 29, 1940 in Hartsville to the late Sam Davis Johnson and Stella Ada Mercer Johnson.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brother, Thomas Johnson; and sisters, Louise Spivey and Joyce Robertson.  She is survived by husband of 54 years, Joe Caldwell; step-daughter, Deborah Williams of Gallatin; brothers, Donald Elmer Johnson of Boaz, KY and Finley Johnson (Linda) of Gulf Shores, AL; sisters, Irene Williams of Portland, Inez Dilla James of Gallatin, Janice Rollin (Carl) of Amo, IN, and Uteva Gregory of Gallatin; niece who Ruth raised as a daughter, Rosemary Robertson of Castalian Springs; 2 step-grandchildren, Amy Hickson (Jeff) and Brian Williams (Tisha); caretaker and niece, Diana Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was a member of Creekside Fellowship Church and a member of the Daughters of the Revolution.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
