Obituary of Dianne M. Grizzard

GRIZZARD, Dianne, age 65 of Mt. Juliet passed away February 17, 2018. Mrs. Grizzard was born in Clarksville, TN and in her senior year at Clarksville High School, she was voted Homecoming Queen in 1970. She attended Austin Peay University where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Education and met the love of her life, her husband, Kent. She was a Metro school teacher for over 20 years. After retirement from teaching, she and her husband bought the Sub Stop Restaurant at 17th and Broadway where they met thousands of friends.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She lived life to the fullest with laughter and joy. She also loved to travel. A friend summed up her life with these words...Thank you for the sunshine that you brought to this world. Thank you for your friendship and for being all that God wanted you to be on this earth. We are all better for having known you.

Mrs. Grizzard was preceded in death by parents, Gilford & Bonna Martin. She is survived by husband of 42 years, Kent Grizzard; sons, Jeff (Mary) Grizzard and Jake (Noel) Grizzard; sister, Sandra (Elvy) Martin Watson; and grandchildren, Renick, Maryn, Jackson and Hutton.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 19th at 2 pm at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet. Interment will follow the service at Hermitage Memorial Gardens with family & friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, February 18th from 2-6 pm and one hour prior to the service on Monday, February 19th.
