James Fount Denning, age 85 of Gallatin, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018. Funeral Service will be Sunday, March 11th at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Avenue). Visitation will be Saturday, March 10th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 11th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Fairfield Cemetery, with Chuck Crafton, Gary Crafton, Barry Barber, Keith Crook, Chris Kendall, Ray Sanders, and Byron Wilson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Thomas Crowder, Willie High, Scott Hobdy, Levie Sullivan, Barry White, Steve Rutherford, and Roger Garrison.
Mr. Denning was born April 2, 1932 in Westmoreland, to the late Fount Charles Denning and Mary Glenn Butt Denning. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Floyd Denning; sister-in-law, Margaret Denning; sisters, Kathryn Lavona Roberts and Alma Ree Crafton; and brothers,-in-law, Bill Roberts and Talmadge Crafton. He is survived by wife of over 59 years, Virginia Garrison Denning of Gallatin; son, Michael Denning of Gallatin; brothers, Noah Dennis Denning (June) of Indianapolis, IN and Granville Denning of Westmoreland; and several nieces and nephews.
