Obituary of Lee Roy Grizzle

Lee Roy Grizzle, age 82 of Gallatin, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018.  Funeral Service will be Friday, March 16th at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Avenue), with Bro. Michael Drennon officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday, March 14th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 15th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m., with a Masonic Service at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, and visitation on Friday, March 16th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with Sam Reynold, Rick Troutt, Murray Tullos, Eddie Kendrick, Steve Barnes, and Bobby Greer serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are Tracy Sadler and Mark Sadler.

Mr. Grizzle was born May 2, 1935 in Sumner County, to the late Clyde William Grizzle and Ella Patterson Grizzle.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, John Leonard Grizzle; and sister, Edith Brummett Dyer.  He is survived by wife of 64 years, Shirley Fykes Grizzle of Gallatin; son, Chris Grizzle (Kathy) of Gallatin; daughter, Kim Kendrick (Eddie) of Gallatin; 1 grandchild, Heather Kendrick Beasley (Tim); and 3 great grandchildren, Kiaya Ann Grizzle, Blake Beasley, and Emma Beasley.  Mr. Grizzle was a Boy Scout Leader and coached Little League, Minor League, and Babe Ruth Baseball.  He was a member of Bethpage Masonic Lodge #521.  He was an Ordained Minister at Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church; retired from Byron’s Barb-B-Que after over 20 years of service; and owned and operated his business, Grizzle Heating and Air for many years.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
