Obituary of Albert "Billy" White

Albert “Billy” White, age 91 of Gallatin, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018.  Funeral Service will be Monday, March 19th  at 11:00 a.m. at Bush’s Chapel Church of Christ (601 South Tunnel Road, Gallatin), with Bro. Jonathan England, Bro. Brandon Johnson, and Bro. Terry Gilliam officiating.  Interment will follow at Old Brush Cemetery, with members of Bush’s Chapel Church of Christ serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will be Sunday, March 18th from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Avenue) and Monday, March 19th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Bush’s Chapel Church of Christ.

Mr. White was born July 3, 1926 in Sumner County to the late William Hershel White and Siddie Lue Lynch White.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Rozelle Ragland White; step-mother, Lillian White; grandsons, Eric Johnson and Jackson Elijah Johnson; son-in-law, Harold Petty; and brother, Leroy White.  He is survived by children, Eva Petty of Gallatin, Judy Barnes (James) of Gallatin, and Peggy Lyng (Jeff) of Gallatin; brother, Russell White (Mildred) of Gallatin; sister-in-law, Sid White of Georgia; 7 grandchildren, Donna Holmes (Jerry), Ronda Perry (Stan), Billy Johnson, Bobby Beasley II (Alissa), Brandon Johnson (Michelle), Brad Johnson, and Kirk Beasley (Molly Crowder); 17 great grandchildren, Chris Ladd, Tori Perry, Justin Holmes, Tara Perry, Erika Johnson, Chandler Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Preston Johnson, Billie Rose Johnson, Thomas Johnson, Clayton Johnson, Samuel Johnson, Taylor Beasley, Macy Beasley, Brooke Beasley, Molly Beasley, and Braylan Johnson; and 1 great-great grandchild, Rhett Gary Holmes.  Mr. White served as an Elder and as a Deacon and Ministered at several Church of Christ.  He took part in the Sumner County First Sunday Singing.  Mr. White was a devoted spiritual leader for both the church and family.  He retired from Genesco after 35 years of service and worked in maintenance at Sumner Regional Medical Center.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Youth Fund at Bush’s Chapel Church of Christ, c/o Charles Hesson, 1995 Old Gallatin Road, Portland, TN  37148.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
