Obituary of Robert "Bob" Earl Damron

Robert “Bob” Earl Damron, age 88 of Gallatin, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018.  Funeral Service will be Saturday, April 28th at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Rev. Jack Carpenter officiating.  Entombment will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, with Robert Damron, Vince Damron, Travis Morris, Robby Damron, David Damron, Anthony Morris, and James Coley serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will be Saturday, April 28th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.

Mr. Damron was born January 1, 1930 in Kenova, WV to the late William David Damron and Georgie Ann Martin Damron.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Walter Damron, Y. B. Damron, and Charles Roy Damron; and sisters, Orpha Burton, Cora Ersham, Sylvia Caldwell, Suzanne Jones, Polly Ratcliffe, Icey Morris, Spicey Durrance, Irene Damron, and Jean Noel.  He is survived by wife of 65 years, Betty Hudepohl Damron of Gallatin; children, Robert Damron (Kathy) of Hamilton, OH, Stephanie Coffey (Thomas) of Greenwood, SC, Eva Morris (Donald) of Melbourne, FL, and Vince Damron of Wadsworth, OH; sister-in-law, Helen Damron of Charleston, WV; special granddaughter, Nichole Morris of Phoenix, AZ; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Mr. Damron served our country in the United States Marines from 1947 until 1960, and served during the Korean War.  He worked for Continental Can from 1952 until 1978, and retired from Ebco Manufacturing where he worked from 1978 until 1992.   He was a member of the Goodletsville Church of the Nazarene.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Family Heritage has been honored with arrangements.
