Obituary of Mike Haynes
Mike Haynes, age 73 of Gallatin, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018. Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, May 5th at 4:00 p.m. from the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Avenue), with Bro. Stephen Russell and Bro. Darrell Duncan officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, May 5th from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Mr. Haynes was born April 29, 1944 in Gallatin to the late Felix Haynes, Sr. and Eunice Simpson Haynes. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Ben Haynes, Sr., and Felix Haynes, Jr.; and sister, Libby Summerlin. He is survived by wife of 49 years, Janice Dowell Haynes of Gallatin; daughters, Cindy Wasden (Quinn) of Gallatin, Christy York (Matt Brooks) of Gallatin, and Trina Curd (Bill) of Bethpage; and 5 grandchildren, Samantha Curd, Clay Wasden, Emma Wasden, Wyatt Curd, and Ryker York. He was a father figure to many, including several nieces and nephews who he dearly loved. Mike served our country in the United States Navy for 6 years during the Vietnam War. He retired from Bell South after 34 years of service. Mike was a faithful member of Old Union Church of Christ.
