Obituary of Joy Scott

SCOTT, Linda Joy, age 70 of Hendersonville, passed away June 25, 2018. Joy was preceded in death by parents, Fred and Mary Cunningham; brother, Jesse Cunningham; sister, Catherine Rase. She is survived by daughters, DeAnna (Kenny) Powell and Jill (Ron) Dawson; brothers, Harold (Pat) Cunningham, Edward (Annette) Cunningham, Randy Cunningham; sisters, Shirley Lyell, Penny (Sam) Irwin; Brother in law, Bill Rase; Sister in law, Nell Cunningham; grandchildren, Jordan Dawson, Collin Dawson, Kennedy Powell, Kaleb Powell, Karlee Powell and Janiah Powell; Close family friend, Mike Lester; former husband, Gary (Paula) Scott; several nephews and nieces.

Joy loved her family and the Lord. She exemplified her name in life with everyone she met. She was a member of Cornerstone Nashville. She enjoyed going to church and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She went to all her grandchildren’s events whether it was a dance recital or a ballgame. She lived a Christian life and was a Godly example for her family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 28^th at 1 pm from the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home at Hendersonville with Pastor Randy Stoecker officiating. Interment will follow the service at Hendersonville Memory Gardens with Jordan Dawson, Collin Dawson, Kaleb Powell, Todd Lyell, Robert Lyell, Keith Scott and James Scott serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, June 27^th from 4-8 pm and Thursday, June 27^th from 11 am until time of service.
