Obituary of Dorothy "Dot" Faye Phillips

Dorothy “Dot” Faye Phillips, age 84 of Gallatin, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018.  Funeral Service will be Monday, August 20^th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Avenue).  Visitation will be Sunday, August 19^th from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. and Monday 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow at 4:15 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodletsville, TN  37072, with David Fennessy, Shane Brown, Tim Bates, Chris Wilkinson, Jeff Wilkinson, and Tim Roberts serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are James Bates and Keith Bates.

Mrs. Phillips was born August 4, 1934 in Yonkers, NY to the late David Samuel Roberts and Edith Marie Gilbert Joyce.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brother, Donald R. Roberts.  She is survived by loving companion and husband of 34 years, Robert “Bob” S. Phillips of Gallatin; son, Michael Ray Bates (Karen) of Smyrna; daughters, Diane Bates Mullins of Portland and Sandra Kay Fennessy (David) of Dallas, TX; 8 grandchildren, Tim Bates (Brandie), James Bates, Keith Bates, Jeff Wilkinson, Chris Wilkinson, Shana Marin (Jerry), Kellie Gaster (Don), and Travis Fennessy (Caroline); and 4 great grandchildren, Madison Bates, Michael Bates, Dylan Wilkinson, and Emma Wilkinson.  Mrs. Phillips is retired from Beaman Bottling Company.   Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Sumner County, 16 Volunteer Drive, Hendersonville, TN  37075.  Online condolences may be submitted at alexanderheritagefh.com.  Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home has been honored with arrangements.
